Kim Rens

Visual Designer / Light Designer

Born in 1978 in Aarschot, I embarked on my creative journey with a passion for visual artistry. After completing my training as a graphic designer, I immediately immersed myself in the dynamic world of light and sound technology in Aarschot.

The following season, my career took off as I began freelancing for renowned organizations such as Villanella and Het Muziek Lod, and became affiliated with Tead. My talent and dedication soon led me to De Maan (2002-2006), where I not only honed my skills but also ventured into creating captivating light designs.

This breakthrough paved the way for an exciting transfer to Abattoir Fermé, where I had the privilege of collaborating with the visionary Stef Lernous on innovative light and set designs. Over the years, my expertise and creativity have flourished, allowing me to work with prestigious theater companies like Toneelhuis, Transparant, Crew/Eric Joris, Helder Seabra, Eastman/Sidi Larbi, Nona, Kaaitheater, and many more.

Today, I proudly work as the theater technology coordinator at Cultuurhuis De Warande, where I continue to push the boundaries of theater production. In addition to my professional endeavors, I channel my passion for skateboarding into my own venture, Youth Madness Skate, a skate school dedicated to nurturing the next generation of skaters.
